The Sample Receiving Coordinator is a vital contributor to the integrity of the analytical workflow, overseeing the precise intake, triage, and systemic logging of incoming specimens and materials. This role ensures that the foundational stage of the scientific process is executed with uncompromising accuracy, maintaining the strict Chain of Custody required for high-stakes testing. By safeguarding sample viability and data alignment, this individual enables the laboratory to deliver the rigorous insights necessary for global safety and innovation.
Hours : Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM with flexibility and some Saturdays

responsibilities:
- Execute high-volume accessioning by accurately logging complex customer samples into the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS).
- Maintain the physical and digital integrity of the Chain of Custody, ensuring all materials are appropriately labeled and transferred to specified thermal environments (cold-chain management).
- Perform rigorous clerical and technical reviews to verify data entry accuracy and specimen viability prior to laboratory transition.
- Uphold stringent ISO, Quality Control (QC), and biosafety standards, ensuring the receiving environment remains compliant with regulatory expectations.
- Coordinate internal workflows by providing guidance to junior personnel and managing the replenishment of critical laboratory consumables and inventory.
- Facilitate technical communication with clients, vendors, and cross-functional laboratory departments to resolve sample discrepancies or logistics challenges.
- Drive continuous improvement by learning and implementing novel processing techniques and training team members on standardized operating procedures (SOPs).
qualifications:
Required:
- Associate degree
- 1+ years of hands on experience in a lab outside of academia
Preferred:
- Education: Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Biology, Chemistry, or a related field
- Advanced proficiency with LIMS or similar robust laboratory data management architectures
skills: Good Laboratory Practices (GLP)
