The Center for Health Behavior Research & Innovation (CHB) at Syracuse University seeks a Clinical Research Coordinator to join an interdisciplinary team of faculty, postdocs, and graduate students. Translational research projects span areas including pain, substance use, trauma, sleep, suicidality, coping, nutrition, and digital health. Through collaboration with the D'Aniello Institute for Veterans and Military Families (IVMF), CHB also supports research aimed at improving the health and well-being of service members, veterans, and their families. The position provides hands-on research experience, mentorship, and preparation of manuscripts, presentations, and other scholarly outputs. Coordinators also engage in study design, data interpretation, community outreach, and dissemination activities. Ongoing studies include laboratory methods, ecological momentary assessment (EMA), national data set analyses, and mHealth intervention development, among others. Position responsibilities include study coordination, participant recruitment, assessments, and data management. The role is well suited for individuals seeking additional research experience prior to graduate or professional training, as well as those interested in building careers in clinical or behavioral health research.

Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in psychology, neuroscience, public health, sociology, biology, or a related field.
  • Applicants completing the final year of a bachelor's program may be considered with proof of degree by the start date.
  • Candidates must be able to work in person in Syracuse and participate in research activities across multiple projects.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple responsibilities are required.
  • Minimum commitment of one year is expected.

Skills and Knowledge
  • Experience with human subject research, behavioral assessment, survey research, or data management.
  • Experience with REDCap, ecological momentary assessment (EMA), or digital health tools is helpful but not required.
  • Strong written communication skills are desirable given opportunities to assist with manuscripts and research presentations.
  • Candidates should demonstrate reliability, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively with interdisciplinary teams and diverse participant populations, including veteran and military communities.

Responsibilities
  • Manage data and quality assurance.
  • Maintain and organize datasets; conduct data cleaning and documentation; manage REDCap databases and study records.
  • Assist with manuscript preparation and research dissemination.
  • Prepare tables and figures, assist with literature reviews and manuscript drafting, support conference abstracts and presentations, and assist investigators with organizing and interpreting research findings.
  • Conduct and coordinate study visits and research activities.
  • Administer questionnaires and behavioral tasks; coordinate participant sessions; prepare study materials and equipment.
  • Recruit, screen, schedule, and retain participants.
  • Recruit participants through approved channels; conduct eligibility screening; coordinate visits and follow-up.
  • Regulatory compliance and study documentation.
  • Assist with IRB submissions, renewals, and study documentation.
  • 5 Coordinate research logistics and team communication.
  • Support collaboration across research teams, trainees, and community partners.
