Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented Category Manager for a direct hire opportunity in Guaynabo, PR. This role is ideal for a bilingual merchandising, category management, or retail analytics professional who enjoys using data to improve product placement, planogram performance, and sales results.
The Category Manager will analyze sales trends, evaluate product performance, support planogram design, and communicate recommendations to internal teams and external clients. This position offers the opportunity to work in a fast-paced consumer goods environment where strong analysis, client communication, and execution directly impact category growth.

Key Responsibilities
- Analyze sales data, market share, out-of-stock reports, and consumer insights to support category performance and product placement decisions.
- Develop, update, and recommend planogram strategies that maximize product exposure, space utilization, and sales opportunities.
- Evaluate product performance within planograms, integrate new items efficiently, and maintain updated product layouts and images.
- Present category recommendations, approved planogram changes, and performance results to clients and internal category management teams.
- Coordinate with internal supervisors and client contacts to ensure planogram implementation aligns with negotiated agreements and business goals.
- Maintain strong client communication, identify risks or barriers to compliance, and support timely solutions that improve execution and customer satisfaction.
Compensation and Benefits
- Direct hire opportunity.
- Salary range: $32,000 to $38,000 per year.

Required Qualifications and Skills
- Analyze category, sales, and market data to develop actionable merchandising recommendations.
- Support planogram design, implementation, evaluation, and adjustment for retail clients.
- Prepare and present category layout recommendations and performance insights.
- Coordinate with internal teams and external clients to ensure planogram compliance and execution.
- Associate Degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Management or Marketing preferred.
- Experience in data analysis, category management, retail merchandising, visual merchandising, or planogram support.
- Knowledge of planogram design and implementation.
- Knowledge of Retail Link or Scintilla systems.
- Strong Microsoft Office skills, including advanced Excel.
- Ability to interpret market information, brand line data, sales reports, and category performance metrics.
- Knowledge of sales and consumer goods industry practices.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Spanish.
- Strong negotiation, persuasion, customer service, and client relationship management skills.
- Strategic thinker with strong analytical, quantitative, planning, and execution abilities.
- Able to multitask, manage deadlines, work independently, and perform in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail, time management, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage conflict, handle concerns professionally, and maintain self-control under pressure.
- Own vehicle, valid Puerto Rico driver’s license, and active auto insurance required.
- Physical ability to lift 50 lbs or more.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience working with the Walmart account.
- Minimum of three years of experience in functions related to Category Analyst or Category Manager responsibilities.
- Experience in the consumer goods or food industry.
- Knowledge of JDA Pro Space system.
- Specific knowledge of category management techniques.
