Job Description

Accentuate Staffing is seeking an experienced Bookkeeper for a law firm in Raleigh, NC. This is a full-time, direct hire opportunity responsible for managing day-to-day accounting operations, financial reporting, billing, and collections, with a strong focus on accuracy and compliance.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage daily bookkeeping activities, including maintaining the general ledger and ensuring accurate financial records.
  • Oversee client billing processes, including generating monthly invoices and distributing them to clients.
  • Handle collections and ensure timely receipt and posting of payments.
  • Process and post credit card transactions and deposits to operating and trust accounts.
  • Reconcile operating and trust accounts on a monthly basis, ensuring compliance with legal and accounting standards.
  • Maintain detailed financial documentation, including monthly binders with receipts, checks, and transaction records.
  • Record all client and firm expenses, including credit card transactions, in the general ledger.
  • Prepare monthly financial reports, including income statements and balance sheets.
  • Manage accounts payable, ensuring timely and accurate payment of all bills and verification of charges.
  • Process payroll on a semi-monthly basis using SurePayroll.
  • Partner with external CPA on tax-related matters and financial reporting.
  • Support basic office administration, including tracking employee timekeeping and maintaining personnel records.

Requirements:

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field preferred (or equivalent experience).
  • 3+ years of bookkeeping or accounting experience, preferably in a legal or professional services environment.
  • Strong understanding of GAAP and accounting principles.
  • Experience managing both operating and trust accounts.
  • High attention to detail with strong analytical and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proactive, solution-oriented mindset with a focus on process improvement.
